Chris DeChant is a CFS®, Financial Advisor here at Public Safety Financial/ Galloway. Chris also serves as the Assistant Chief of the Operations/Deployment, Professional Development/Health & Safety, EMS Section for Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (AFMA). Prior to being selected as an Assistant Chief for AFMA, he was the Fire Chief of El Mirage Fire Department for two years and served twenty-three years for Glendale Fire Department. During his time with the Glendale Fire Department, Chris served as an Operations Captain, Special Operations Captain, Division Chief of Special Operations, Division Chief of Training, and Emergency Medical Services Deputy Chief prior to being appointed an Assistant Chief in 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety Administration and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership. Chris earned a Chief Fire Officer designation in 2007 by the Center for Public Safety Excellence, an Executive Fire Officer designation by the National Fire Academy in 2013, and Certified Public Manager certification by the Arizona State University Bob Ramsey Executive Education Program in 2017.
