Sara McMullin joins Public Safety Financial as a Head of Risk Management, bringing 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. In her role, Sara works closely with the firm’s Financial Advisors to support clients’ insurance needs are thoughtfully addressed.

Sara’s path into the industry started early. Her mother held executive roles at several large insurance companies, giving Sara early exposure to the field. She began her career with a property and casualty company that specialized in serving teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other public service professionals.

After six years, Sara joined a new company where she created and led its Emergency Services Division. In this role, she developed supplemental benefit programs designed specifically for first responders. She spent 11 years building and expanding the division before moving on to a corporation owned by a large labor union. As Director of Insurance, Sara managed relationships, and product offerings between insurance carriers and more than 300,000 union members.

Sara and her husband, Kevin, have two sons. When the family isn’t busy attending their boys’ karate and theater activities, they enjoy playing board games, traveling together, and taking day trips to Disneyland using their Disneyland Magic Keys.

Sara also enjoys trail running. She is passionate about volunteering in her community, supporting her sons’ schools, community theater, and organizations that help foster youth.
